TEACH ME HOW TO INTERPRET MY DREAMS
"Abdullah ibn Zayd reported: I saw in a dream a man wearing two green garments teaching me the Adhan, and he sat on a wall by the Mosque. I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and told him about it, and he said, 'Teach it to Bilal, for he has a louder voice than you.'”
 Sunan Ibn Majah 706

IS DREAM INTERPRETATION

A SCIENCE WORTHY OF STUDY?

Many may wonder: Is understanding dreams truly an Islamic science worthy of our time and investment? The answer stems in the deep roots of this knowledge in Islamic tradition.

Dream Interpretation in Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and Other Authentic Books of Hadith

Imam Al-Bukhari, one of the most respected scholars of Islam, dedicated an entire chapter in his monumental work, Sahih al-Bukhari, to the interpretation of dreams (Kitab al-Ru'ya). Similarly, dream interpretation is also addressed in Sahih Muslim and other authentic collections of Hadith, further emphasizing the importance of understanding dreams in light of our faith. These works serve as foundational texts, providing insight into the role dreams play in guidance, glad tidings, and personal reflection within the Islamic tradition.

BENEFITS OF DREAMS

HOW WILL DREAM INTERPRETATION TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE?

Glad Tidings and Relief from Worry

The Prophet ﷺ said nothing of Prophethood remains except true dreams that bring glad tidings (Sahih Muslim 479). Whether it’s guidance in hardship or reassurance in doubt, dreams can lift burdens and bring comfort.

Encourage Good Deeds

True dreams can show your spiritual state and inspire action, like Ibn Umar’s dream motivating him to pray the night prayer. Imagine how this knowledge could deepen your own connection to Allah.

Remain Steadfast

When the companions felt weak, the Prophet ﷺ had a dream of performing tawaf around the Ka’bah. This vision, quoted in Surah Al-Fath (48:27), gave them hope and led to the eventual conquest of Makkah. Similarly, true dreams can strengthen your resolve and keep you on the straight path.

Connection to the Unseen

Dreams remind us of the existence of the soul and matters of the unseen, offering glimpses into the metaphysical realm. Unlike Western interpretations, Islamic dream interpretation acknowledges this divine connection.

Cure and Healing

Many have found solutions to spiritual and physical ailments through dreams, such as reciting specific verses of the Qur’an. Imagine discovering the guidance you need to overcome challenges in your own life.

Guidance for Your Deen and Dunya

From Imam Bukhari’s dream that inspired his monumental work, Sahih Bukhari, to modern innovators like Larry Page’s vision for Google, dreams have guided monumental achievements.

WHAT STUDENTS HAVE SAID

THE COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

The famous book "Dream Interpretation by Ibn Sirin" was not authored by Imam Muhammad ibn Sirin (rahimahullah), the renowned Islamic scholar and tabi’i. It was authored by Abu Muhammad Al-Naysaburi or Abu Saeed Al Waith.

Scholars and researchers have clarified that the book widely attributed to him does not have a reliable source to prove he authored it.

The authentic knowledge of Ibn Sirin regarding dreams comes from narrations documented in earlier sources like Imam Al-Bukhari's works, where he is quoted for interpreting dreams.

ARIF ABU MUHAMMAD

In 2017, my journey into the world of dream interpretation began with a moment I’ll never forget. My wife and I had been trying to conceive for months without success, and during this time, she had a dream. In it, she saw herself being given bangles and a Mus'haf. At first, we didn’t think much of it, brushing it off as just a dream. But something about it lingered in my mind, so I decided to share it with my Sheikh, who was known for his ability to interpret dreams.

When I told him about the dream, I didn’t mention that it was my wife’s. I simply said, "A person I know had this dream." Without hesitation, he replied, "Your wife will get pregnant with a baby girl." I was taken aback. I couldn’t understand how bangles could symbolize a baby girl. It didn’t make sense to me, so I left it at that, still somewhat skeptical.

A couple of weeks later, something incredible happened—my wife found out she was pregnant. I was stunned. How could the Sheikh have known? At first, I even wondered if this could be something sinister, like sihr. But as time went on and we found out the baby’s gender, confirming it was a girl, my intrigue grew. This wasn’t something evil—it was far too beautiful and precise for that. It felt like a gift from Allah SWT.

I couldn’t let it go. I went back to my Sheikh, full of questions, eager to understand more about dreams and their meanings. This experience opened my eyes to the profound wisdom and beauty in dreams, a gift from Allah that I had never appreciated before. It was a turning point for me. I realized that dreams are not just fleeting images but can hold deep, meaningful guidance.

That moment set me on a path to learn everything I could about dream interpretation. It became a passion—a mission. I wanted to share this beauty with the world, to help others see the divine messages hidden in their dreams, just as I had seen in mine.
